Some units incorporate lightweight materials to allow the RV to be towed by a small car and for better fuel consumption. Other models are built for year-round comfort, regardless of the climate.
Member since 1983, all Gulf Stream products meet or exceed the standards of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.
Gulf Stream RV common problems and customer recalls
- Models: Enlighten 2021
Problem: On certain classic caravans, the bottom of the refrigerator compartment may not be properly sealed. As a result, unburnt carbon monoxide or propane gas could build up inside the trailer. Safety Risks: A build-up of propane gas inside the trailer could create a risk of explosion or fire. In addition, a build-up of carbon monoxide could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Solution: Gulf Stream to notify owners by mail and ask them to take their trailer to a dealership to have the bottom of the refrigerator compartment inspected and sealed.
- Models: Ameri-Lite, Conquest, Innsbruck, Kingsport & Trailmaster 2020-2021
Problem: On certain 19RD Super-Lite classic trailers, there may not be enough clearance between the top of the axle and the underside of the grey (waste) water tank. As a result, the axle could come into contact with the tank when the trailer is loaded and the tank is full. This could damage the tank and cause grey (waste) water to leak.
Safety risks: A leak from the wastewater tank could create a road hazard and increase the risk of an accident.
Solution: Gulf Stream Coach should notify owners by mail and ask them to take their trailer to a dealership to replace the axle in order to increase space. Gulf Stream Coach recommends travelling with empty holding tanks until repairs to be made as part of this recall are made.
- Models: Vintage Cruiser 2019
Problem: On certain classic caravans, the inner hub bearings of the axles may not be sufficiently greased. This could cause the bearings to overheat and fail, which could cause a wheel to jam or come off. It could cause a loss of control and an accident. In addition, a loose wheel could strike a vehicle, stationary object, or person nearby, injuring someone or damaging property.
Solution: Dealers will need to inspect all hubs. If there is not enough grease and the bearings are new, the bearings will need to be relined, and the hubs will need to be reinstalled. If the bearings show signs of wear, the hubs and bearings will need to be replaced. If the axle beam is damaged, it will also need to be replaced.
- Models: Touring Cruiser and Conquest 2018-2019
Problem: On certain motor homes, the auxiliary solar charging port may have been installed without adequate circuit protection (a fuse). If solar panels are plugged in through the solar charging port and exceed the maximum circuit amperage, there could be an increased risk of fire injuring someone or damaging property.
Solution: Dealers will need to install a fuse in the auxiliary solar charging port circuit.
Why choose Gulf Stream RV brand
Gulf Stream motorhomes are considered among the best and high quality RVs. Today, every 12th American prefers campers to ordinary homes, which are becoming more comfortable every year.
A distinctive feature of Gulf Stream motorhomes is their large dimensions. Gulf Stream and many others engaged in the production of Class A campers are ready to offer their customers real palaces in which you can not only travel, but also live fully. By the way, most US citizens who own Gulf Streams motorhomes do this, as these campers are better equipped than most of their counterparts.
Gulf Stream Class A RVs: A-class motorhomes are the largest and often most luxurious motorhomes in existen. Most A-class Gulf Stream models offer complete autonomy, with an onboard generator, a huge tank of clean water, a large battery capacity and an increased volume of installed gas cylinders – approximately 200 liters.
These properties make these RVs especially good for campgrounds without connections and travel without additional fuel, even for long periods of time.
Gulf Stream Class C RVs: Class B motorhomes are based on truck chassis that are specially designed for this purpose. Class C campers keep the cab of the basic version of the car on which the motorhome is built. In this case, there are separate doors for the driver and passenger, which is certainly convenient. For most drivers, a Class C motorhome will feel more natural than a Class A motorhome, especially if it is the first time you have to drive a motorhome.
Gulf Stream Class B RVs: These RVs maintain their original dimensions, but have a raised roof, usually made of fiberglass, and offer a full range of standard amenities: dining and sleeping areas, a small kitchen and a portable toilet.
Some manufacturers produce “B” class motorhomes on extended van chassis, thereby allowing to organize more convenience inside the mobile home, as well as to make it fully autonomous and suitable for traveling from 2 to 4 people.
Gulf Stream Travel Trailers: Larger models are suitable for long-term use, up to operation as permanent housing, which is common in America. Smaller trailers are larger for weekend trips. All trailers are complete with en suite bathrooms, including separate showers, and a fully equipped kitchen. The living and dining areas are largely regulated by the overall size of the trailer.
