- Once you are done with the piers, add the 4 x 4 posts on each concrete row. This is where you get to adjust the height and keep it level for the joists. However, if the ground is level, there is no need to worry about making major adjustments to the posts. Just be sure to cut the 4 x 4 pots in each row to the right size and ensure that they are all level.
- Attach these posts with the help of screws and make sure that they are adequately secured. The posts will need to be attached to the piers that you have installed.
Install the joists
- The next step is to install the joists. Add 2 x 6 joists along each side of the 4 x 4 posts. These joists should be attached with bolts or screws. Make sure that the joists are placed accurately on either side of the posts.

Add the decking boards
